From Anger to Healing

An Interview with Father Micheal Lapsley from The Episcopal Diocese of NC on Vimeo.

In a video interview with Schuyler Moss of the Diocese of North Carolina, the Rev. Michael Lapsley, SSM, discusses his experiences of apartheid and his journey from anger to healing.

Lapsley, a native of New Zealand, was ordained to the priesthood in Australia. His order, the Society of the Sacred Mission, sent him to South Africa as a young priest. He began to work against apartheid, which eventually led to his exile to Lesotho. In 1990, he lost his hands and sight in one eye when a letter bomb exploded in his hands.

Lapsley is the author of Redeeming the Past: My Journey from Freedom Fighter to Healer (Orbis, 2013) and founder of the Institute for Healing of Memories.
