The Episcopal Church in Minnesota, St. Mark’s Cathedral, and Episcopal Homes have formed a partnership to develop an Episcopal Campus in the Minneapolis neighborhood of Loring Park. The partnership plans a capital campaign to raise $3.1 million.

Along with 58 apartments of housing for adults age 62-plus, the campus will include two levels of underground parking and a neighborhood market. It will be home to the offices of the bishop and missioners, with additional space available for Episcopal affiliates.

“Episcopalians in Minnesota have long been committed to supporting people of all ages and the communities around them,” said the Rt. Rev. Brian N. Prior, Bishop of Minnesota. “From active communities of faith, educational institutions, and housing for older adults, Episcopalians understand the power of collaboration to connect one another and share in God’s mission.”

Said the Very Rev. Paul Lebens-Englund, dean of St. Mark’s: “I’m particularly excited to cultivate an energetic, creative, multigenerational community in the Loring Park neighborhood — both benefitting from the beauty and resurgence of the neighborhood and also bringing our own gifts and passions to bear on the life we share here.”
