Deacons Seek Executive Director

The Association for Episcopal Deacons has announced a search for an executive director. The 27-year-old organization focuses on the preparation and support of deacons and in engaging the diakonia of all believers. It has more than 1,000 members in the United States, Latin America and Europe. Membership is open to all who are interested in diaconal ministry.

The executive director oversees the AED’s triennial Deacon Assembly, its presence at General Convention, and annual archdeacon and formation director meetings. The executive director will work an average 20 hours per week with flexible scheduling of hours; some travel is required. The AED plans to have the executive director in place by June 1.

Visit episcopaldeacons.org for more information about the AED. Write to the Rev. Canon Tina Campbell, president-elect, at [email protected] with any questions about the job. To apply for this position send a resume and cover letter via email to Canon Campbell. Resumés should include activities and leadership experiences in professional as well as volunteer roles including the Church and especially diaconal ministry. The deadline for applying is Dec. 1.
