Drawn to Mystery at Princeton

The Rev. Joseph G. Wolyniak, the new Episcopal chaplain at Princeton University, is the guest on the Dec. 15 edition of Optimism Is Cool Again, a podcast of the Diocese of New Jersey.

Wolyniak says Princeton students are drawn to the mysteries of Christian faith, as expressed through liturgy and worship. The chaplain jokes that his business card should include St. Paul’s point that God “uses the foolishness of the world to confound the wise” (1 Cor. 1:25).

The diocese provides a summary of Wolyniak’s background:

Wolyniak comes to the Diocese of New Jersey after serving as Missioner for Discipleship & Theological Education in the Episcopal Diocese of Colorado, where he worked in the Office of Faith Formation in support of campus ministries at several colleges and universities across the state. He completed his Doctorate of Philosophy in Theology from the University of Oxford in June, and was ordained to the priesthood on December 11.
