Historians Hire Skidmore

David Skidmore is the new editor of The Historiographer, a joint publication of the National Episcopal Historians and Archivists (NEHA) and the Historical Society of the Episcopal Church.

Skidmore, former communications director for the Diocese of Chicago, is a communication consultant living in Door County, Wisconsin. He has received numerous Episcopal Communicators awards in publishing, writing, video production, and web design. He has served on the news teams of General Convention and the Lambeth Conference.

The Historiographer, with a circulation of approximately 900, is published quarterly. It includes parochial and diocesan history, biographical sketches, historical sketches of churches, church records, and reports about the two sponsoring organizations.

“I’m excited for this new chapter for The Historiographer,” said Susan Stonesifer, president of the NEHA, who led the search committee. “David is someone with the breadth of working nationally along with the depth of experience as a diocesan communications director.”

Members and non-members are encouraged to submit snippets for publication.
