Indianapolis Canon Joins Slate

The canon to the ordinary in the Diocese of Indianapolis has joined the slate of nominees for 11th bishop of the diocese. The nominees and their introductory videos follow.

The Rev. Grace Burton-Edwards, rector of St. Thomas Church, Columbus, Georgia. Burton-Edwards was ordained to the diaconate and priesthood in the Diocese of Indianapolis, and served in ordained ministry there from 2007 to 2014.

The Rev. Canon Bruce W. Gray has served as canon to the ordinary since 2009 and is the one nominee by petition. He is the sole nominee from within the diocese. The other nominees serve in four dioceses, including Chicago (the closest), Olympia (the farthest), Georgia, and Maryland.

The election is scheduled for Oct. 28 at Christ Church Cathedral, Indianapolis, during the next diocesan convention.
