A Story of Resurrection
Seven years ago, there were two small Episcopal churches in the Spokane valley, each on the edge of survival. They decided to start a new church in Veradale, Wash. — not a merged, joined or yoked congregation. Named Resurrection, the new church intentionally set out to make itself attractive to potential new members. Last year the congregation moved into its own new $1.2 million church campus with a view of majestic Mount Spokane.

Report Deserves Serious Attention
In its report titled “The Gift of Sexuality: A Theological Perspective," the Theology Committee of the House of Bishops says it "cannot recommend authorizing the development of new rites" for the blessing of same-sex couples. Executive editor David Kalvelage comments on the report , including its "refreshing honesty."

P.B. Keeps Eye on Human Rights in The Sudan
The passage of a United Nations resolution reclassifying The Sudan as a country without significant human rights abuses will undermine a fragile peace process and the credibility of the U.N. Commission on Human Rights, according to Presiding Bishop Frank T. Griswold, who recently wrote to the United States representative at the United Nations.
