The Diocese of Southern Ohio has rescheduled the election of its ninth bishop to Nov. 11, 2006.

Meeting in a special session of the diocesan convention on June 11, the convention voted to hold for election in Portsmouth, Ohio. Originally, it was scheduled to be held June 11, but when the House of Bishops put a one-year moratorium on approval of episcopal elections, the date was changed.

The person elected will succeed the Rt. Rev. Herbert Thompson, Jr., as diocesan bishop.
