  • Formal Charges Lodged Against Connecticut Bishop

    Nineteen Episcopal lay leaders and priests from the Diocese of Connecticut have lodged an official complaint with the office of the Presiding Bishop against the Bishop of Connecticut, accusing the Rt. Rev. Andrew D. Smith of undermining the structure of the Episcopal Church and denying canonical due process for the so-called “Connecticut Six” clergy and their parishes.

  • Archbishop Malango Postpones Consecration of English Bishop-Elect

    The Primate of Central Africa, the Most Rev. Bernard Malango, has postponed the consecration of an English priest as Bishop of Lake Malawi, asking him to subscribe to the creeds and Articles of Religion and to affirm that he “fashions his own life and of his household according to the doctrine of Christ.”

  • Mass Depositions in Recife

    Thirty-two priests and deacons of the diocese of Recife were deposed on Aug. 23, charged with abandoning the Communion of the Episcopal-Anglican Church of Brazil for pledging their continued loyalty to the Bishop of Recife, the Rt. Rev. Robinson Cavalcanti.
