Three more candidates have been nominated by petition to the election of a bishop in the Diocese of Chicago.
The three are: the Rev. Alvin Johnson, Jr., rector of St. Michael’s Church, Barrington, Ill.; the Rev. Canon Robert Koomson, a native of Ghana and pastor-in-residence at Seabury-Western Theological Seminary; and the Rev. Petero Sabune, a native of Uganda who serves as chaplain of Sing Sing Correctional Facility and associate rector of Trinity, Ossining, N.Y.
Nominations are now closed. The bishop will be elected Nov. 10 from a final slate of eight. The election is scheduled during diocesan convention at a hotel convention center in Wheeling, Ill.
