The Episcopal Preaching Foundation has announced that the Rev. E.F. Michael Morgan will become the foundation’s executive director July 1.

Fr. Morgan, 66, most recently served as interim rector of St. Peter’s Church, Glenside, Pa. He previously served churches in the Philadelphia area, Massachusetts, and Good Shepherd, Athens, Ohio.

“Mike brings a wide knowledge of the Episcopal Church, strong leadership and administrative skills, and a firm commitment to Christ and the importance of preaching in proclaiming the gospel,” said A. Gary Shilling, chairman and founder of the foundation. “We’ll not only continue our highly successful annual Preaching Excellence Program (PEP) conference for seminarians, but also expand our conferences for parish preachers and pursue other programs to fulfill our mission of improving preaching in the Church.”

Fr. Morgan succeeds the Rev. Timothy J. Mulder, whom Mr. Shilling thanked for his service to the foundation as a board member, PEP faculty member, executive director and, most recently, as the director of PEP 2009.

“We appreciate Tim’s many efforts on our behalf and are delighted over his interest in continuing to serve the foundation,” Mr. Shilling said.
