The Diocese of Connecticut announced a slate of four for the Oct. 24 election of a diocesan bishop.
The candidates are:
- the Rt. Rev. Jim Curry, Bishop Suffragan of Connecticut;
- the Rev. Mark Delcuze, rector, St. Stephen’s Church, Ridgefield, Conn.;
- the Rev. Ian T. Douglas, professor of mission and world Christianity at Episcopal Divinity School; and
- the Rev. Beth Fain, rector, St. Mary’s, Cypress, Texas.
The Rt. Rev. Andrew D. Smith, Bishop of Connecticut since 1999, previously announced his intention to retire following the consecration of a successor. Assuming the bishop-elect receives consent from a majority of diocesan standing committees and bishops with jurisdiction, the consecration is scheduled to be held April 17, 2010.
