A nominating synod for the 11th Bishop of Springfield (Ill.) will have 15 names to choose from when it meets Aug. 6 and 7.

The diocese’s standing committee has announced the 15 nominees on its website [PDF]. The nominees, including one woman, range in age from 32 to 63. They also cover a wide geographic range; four are from within the diocese, but others are from as far away as California, Florida and Massachusetts.

They are:

After the nominating committee narrows the slate, nominees will visit the diocese Aug. 31–Sept. 2. An electing synod will meet Sept. 17 and 18.
