The Rt. Rev. Alan Scarfe, Bishop of Iowa, is accompanied by an unidentified traveler at Trinity Cathedral in Davenport on May 25, the start of a 10-day, 180-mile run/walk trek to St. Paul’s, Des Moines, the diocese’s other cathedral. Bishop Scarfe, a marathon runner and former high school track coach, undertook the trip as “a visual reminder that faith is a journey” and to raise funds for causes that include new church starts, support for those newly returned from seminary, and global mission experiences for young adults.
