Structure: Unanimous Again

By Matt Townsend

The House of Deputies has passed Resolution C095, which could prepare the way for major changes in church structure over the coming triennium if approved by the House of Bishops.

Gasps met the unanimous passing of the amendment, followed by applause. Deputies rose to sing the hymn “Sing a New Church” in celebration of the vote.

Resolution C095 was the work of the Structure Committee, co-chaired by House of Deputies President-Elect Gay Jennings. The committee considered more than 50 resolutions in creating the omnibus legislation.

Lyrics to “Sing a New Church” are available here.
