TSM Dean to Resign

Two days after reporting that Trinity School for Ministry surpassed its $14 million fundraising goal by $1.5 million, the Very Rev. Justyn Terry announced that he will complete his service as dean and president on June 30.

“After much prayer, the Terrys feel called to return to England to be closer to family and to continue in ministry in the Church of England,” said a report by Trinity. “A search is already underway for a successor to lead the school into the next chapter of its life.”

Trinity has posted an eight-page profile [PDF] for potential candidates to become Trinity’s seventh dean and president. Applications are due by March 1.

“I am so thankful to God for these eleven years at Trinity School for Ministry” Dean Terry said. “I have learned so much, not only about Christian theology, but also about Christian life and leadership from being with so many wonderful trustees, faculty members, staff, students, alumni, and supporters. What a blessing it has been to me and my family. It will be very hard to say all our farewells. You will remain in our thoughts and prayers.”

Trinity School for Ministry is an evangelical seminary in the Anglican tradition. Begun in 1976, the seminary has trained nearly 1,200 graduates.
