Watch UBE Worship Live

The Diocese of Pennsylvania and the Union of Black Episcopalians will provide a livestream of two worship services during UBE’s annual meeting.

The opening Eucharist and leadership service will begin at 7 p.m. Sunday. There will be a technical rehearsal at 5:30 p.m.

Lutheran Church of the Holy Communion at 2110 Chestnut Street in Philadelphia will host the opening service.

The conference is a joint effort of UBE and the African Descent Lutheran Association, its equivalent in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.

The Rt. Rev. Daniel G.P. Gutierrez, Bishop of Pennsylvania, and the Rev. Claire Schenot Burkat, Bishop of the ELCA’s Southeastern Pennsylvania Synod, will be concelebrants.

A service on July 25 will commemorate the 225th anniversary of the black presence in the Episcopal Church. Presiding Bishop Michael Curry will preach.

The service begins at 7 p.m. at African Episcopal Church of St. Thomas, 6361 Lancaster Ave., preceded at 5:30 by a technical rehearsal.
