The Anglican Communion’s Standing Committee has invited Anglicans to offer their thoughts on the ministry priorities and qualities of the Communion’s next secretary general. The committee has chosen a deadline of November 27.

The Crown Nominations Commission issued a similar invitation as it prepared to appoint the 105th Archbishop of Canterbury. The CNC “received hundreds of emails and letters from around the world,” said the Rt. Rev. James Tengatenga, chairman of the standing committee, which is will appoint a successor to the Rev. Canon Kenneth Kearon.

“This time it is the standing committee — comprising members of the Primates Standing Committee, the Anglican Consultative Council, and the Archbishop of Canterbury as its president — [that] would like to hear from our brothers and sisters around the globe,” Tengatenga said. “What are your thoughts about the ministry priorities and qualities of the next Secretary General? We really hope as many people, from as wide a variety of backgrounds and provinces, will get in touch.”

The standing committee welcomes email, or traditional letters to this address:
